REBELS TO MEET BOA VIAGEM IN EURO QUALIFIER

Coca-Cola Rhondda Rebels will meet Portuguese side Boa Viagem is the pre-qualifying stage of the 2007-08 FIBA EuroCup.

Boa finished fifth in the 11-team Portuguese League last season, winning 12 of their 20 games.

Victory for Rebels will see them compete in a four-team group alongside Taranto (Italy), Challes-les-Eaux (France) and Hondarriba Irun (Spain).

Taranto also finished fifth (out of 16) in their league, posting a 21-9 record, while Challes came seventh with 12 wins from 26 games. Hondarriba Irun are likely to provide the toughest test, having finished fourth last season. They finished second in the 2005 season – their first in the top flight – and third the following year.
